My Beauty Routine & A Giveaway with Sisley Paris

Hi Pretties! What’s up?? It’s Thursday and you know what that means…ONE MORE DAY! I’m SO excited for today because I have a couple of fun things going on here at Pure Joy Home. For one, I’m going to talk to you about my beauty routine (which is actually quite simple) and then I’ll be giving away an awesome, AWESOME prize to one of you lucky gals. Okay so beauty. I have to say my skin has never looked so good. I’m not sure if it’s my age or what, but for as long as I have had boobs on my chest I’ve battled some sort of acne. I’ll never forget when an a**hole in the 7th grade told me I would be pretty if I didn’t have so many pimples on my forehead. I mean really?! I would like to punch this person in the face today. Funny enough, he’s 32, divorced and has been in and out of rehab. Moving on. So middle school wasn’t pretty, high school was better, college even better, and then I think it was in my mid to late twenties when things started to really clear up. I have pretty even skin and hardly ever wear face make-up these days. I have a bunch of freckles and I think it looks better to leave them bare than to cover them up with tinted moisturizers and the like. Also, I think make-up accentuates my budding wrinkles so I leave them alone and hope for the best. I do wear eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, blush and lipstick when I go out but U’ll save makeup for another post. Today I’m going to focus on my daily cleaning and moisturizing regimen.

OK so I wash my face with a bar of plain old dove soap twice a day. I’ve been doing this ever since I was first pregnant because I felt like it was the simplest and most pure << someone is going to tell me there are evil chemicals in this one, I know it.

 

 

And here is where it gets fun. I’ve been using Sisley products for about a year now. A friend introduced me to them (thank you, Christine!) and we’ve been partnering since. I wanted to give the products and my face time to really get acclimated with each other before I came on here and raved about them. Well, it’s been about a year and here I am waving my hands in the air (like I just don’t care) because I’m hooked. I wash my face with dove, put on their floral toning lotion (not pictured) and then I use the anti-aging Sisleya. I do this once or twice/day. I also use a few of their masks during the week. I’d say 3/7 nights I put on the black rose face mask << this leaves my face feeling so plump and dewey-like, and it smells AMAZING. When I have an event or something where I want my skin looking radiant I use the radiant glow express mask and I think this is how I get away with wearing no make-up, it doe something to even out my skin and make it look “radiant”, really. Then there’s the Intense Anti-Aging Hydration which I use on my forehead daily, either morning or night. I’m paranoid about wrinkles up there and I’m using this to hopefully prevent them from showing up too early! No doubt, Sisley is a luxury brand so as you can see the products are on the expensive side, BUT! I will say you only have one face and maybe, just maybe, if we can use the highest quality ingredients, we can prevent…all that comes with aging < hand swirling around face repeatedly with scared look.

We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up.  We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚 

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative. 

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well. 

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app @melissawoodtepperberg @melissawoodhealth and so far I’m loving the workouts. I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
