Praise the Lord, Hallelujah! Happy Friday people. Anyone else feel like this week was so long?! I’m looking forward to a fall weekend in Connecticut with my family. No real plans except soccer on Saturday morning and date night Saturday night (yay!! I can’t decide if I want to make it a martini and dancing night, or quiet dinner with wine night but the more I ponder it, I’m leaning towards the martini and dancing option right now (enter martini and dancing girl emoji). 

On a local note, Wakefield Design Center in Stamford, the place where all of the best interior designers in Fairfield County shop for their clients is having a TENT SALE open to the public this weekend! Do you know what that means? Amazing deals on home decor items and furniture that usually only come from designers made available (and affordable) to normal folks like you and me! You can bet your bottom dollar I will be there scouting out pieces for our new home. Tune in to my snapchat and instagram Friday morning 10/1 at 9:30 a.m. for a live tour of all the amazing goodies they’ll have on sale! AANNDD we’re having a raffle for Pure Joy Home readers. Go there, tell them you read my blog and you will be entered to win this amazing pair of Mary McDonald lamps (retail over $1000!!) You’ll have to fill out a little piece of paper with your name and number (old school style) and we’ll be choosing the winner at the end of the sale! I’m so excited about this! 

 

 

Other than that, we’ll be hangin’ at our new house with the kiddies and living up the fall weekend…lots of yard time, riding bikes, walks to the playground, fall comfort food (chili anyone?!) and football on the TV. Have an amazing weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up.  We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚 

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative. 

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well. 

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app @melissawoodtepperberg @melissawoodhealth and so far I’m loving the workouts. I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
