Weekend Notes

Happy Friday, my loves! We made it 🙂 I’m SO excited for this weekend because we’re having Grace’s baptism on Sunday! We’re a little late on this in the Catholic world, but better late than never right? I’ve been working and planning for her party all week, we’re having about 50 guests on Sunday after the baptism at our house. The forecast isn’t looking so great but luckily we have some unfinished rooms in our house that we can set the tables in. The colors are blush pink and white and I’m using carnations + baby’s breath for flowers, and little white pumpkins scattered around.  I know people associate carnations as being the “cheap alternative” but they are SO pretty with the baby’s breath and I found this unbeatable color and I just can’t help myself. I’m also making a flower crown for GiGi out of the baby’s breath and am attaching a delicate bow with long strands to the back.

I don’t think there could be a prettier combination for October, do you?? And I LOVE the white pumpkins mixed in!

My family is doing a majority of the cooking and we’re filling in with the catering options at our local supermarket (Grade A/Shoprite). We are serving pesto pasta salad, chicken piccata, eggplant rollatini, sausage & peppers, and a green salad (I have a big italian family). For dessert I ordered a cake  in the shape of a cross from DiMare bakery (the best around!) with cookies and a fresh fruit salad. For drinks, we’ll have prosecco, white and red wine, water and pellegrino.

I’m so excited to put it all together and I can’t wait to show you all the pictures! Okay, my to-do list is calling so I will report back on Monday, and follow me on Instagram (@purejoyhome) and snapchat (purejoyhome) for day-to-day updates!

Have a great weekend, oh, and pray for the sun to come out on Sunday for our Grace Louise on her baptism day!
