DIY Glow Serum

Hi Sweet Friends! I’ve been wanting to get this post out for a while now because this DIY is SO good and SO easy. To be completely honest here, I have tried serums from sooo many different brands, some as expensive as $300+ per bottle! Nothing has worked like this glow serum!

I use oils from Young Living because they are the longest and most established essential oil company I have found, and because they have a seed to seal promise which means nothing is altered from the time the essential oil begins as a seed to when it is sealed in the bottle. So many that you can buy on Amazon and Target, etc.. have lots of crap fillers in them.

So, to make the glow serum you’ll want to use copaiba, frankincense and lavender. The combination of these three essential oils does wonders for your skin. For me, it calms redness and inflammation, evens out my skin tone, moisturizes it, and gives it a “glow” that lasts all day. I use it at night, after I wash my face.

I use it around my eyes and on my lips as well so it doubles as a lip and eye treatment.

Here is what you do:

Put 15 drops each of Lavender, Copaiba and Frankincese into a 1 oz. amber glass dropper which you can get on Amazon here. Fill the rest with an organic jojoba oil which you can get here or at Whole Foods. Shake it up and drop about two drops onto your face. Gently rub it in and you’re done!

We have switched over to a non-toxic household with Young Living and I get everything from my toilet scrubber, counter spray, laundry detergent, kids bath soaps, lotions, etc… I have SO much peace of mind knowing we aren’t breathing in harmful chemicals and using safe products on our bodies. We get sick less, sleep better, and are generally happier since making the switch! I know that sounds absolutely crazy but it’s true. We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up.  We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚 

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative. 

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well. 

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
