This post is a special one as it’s featuring my other half. 🙂 PS have you seen Brian on instagram?? It’s brand new and pretty hilarious. SO, Brian and I decided we are going to pass on the gift giving this holiday season. Because of all the work (and $$) we spent on our recent renovation. But I still had a few things on my list I was hoping to save up and get including a smartwatch.
I have been looking at different options so when Garmin reached out to work together I was totally on-board. They came up in my search as the most aesthetic and affordable smartwatch option (in my opinion). Once I saw how beautiful and sleek their styles were in person I was sold.
I am not normally a watch person. So in order for me to wear something everyday it needs to be comfortable stylish and versatile. I chose the rose gold color which I really love. There’s a few different band colors in case you want to change up the look (i.e. from day to night).
When I received my watch in the mail I put it on right away and have been wearing it ever since. SO many of you spotted and asked about it right away in my stories! My favorite features so far have been:
Tracking my daily steps
- I feel like I run around all day. But now I will know whether or not that is resulting in me actually moving for as much time as I should each and every day. I want to be a healthy and energized wife, mama and business women. So I need to stay on top of my health and this is a REALLY simple way to start doing so.
Alerts for text, e-mail or phone calls
- SO much of my job is on my phone. It’s nice to be able to put it away when the kids are done with school and focus my attention towards them. The texts to my watch allow me to easily scan and see if it’s urgent or if it can wait. If I do need to take a call, I can set a timer to make sure I don’t go too long. It helps me stay on track for the day.
Heart Rate, Sleep and Stress monitor
- It’s amazing what this watch can do for your health. I have seen heart rate and sleep monitors in other devices. But the stress monitor is something I am really interested in, especially this time of year. It can help track your stress levels and notify you if you need to take a break. It encourages you to use the relaxation timer to work through deep breathing exercises to get you balanced again.
Music
- Bringing my phone and an armband on a run can be clunky and uncomfortable. Now I can play music directly through the Garmin. This is so much more convenient and comfortable.
By the way I am starting to run did I tell you all that?
I ran twice in the past two weeks but I consider that a victory! The best part is the daily reminder and motivation to move more. And this has now become a friendly competition between Brian and I. We are both super competitive so I thought this would be the perfect thing for Brian to try out with me. He and I can sync our activities to the Garmin Connect app share progress and see who’s “winning” that day. If we want we can send cute texts to each other encouraging the other one to get moving. There is also a kids line so when they get a little older (and more responsible:) I will look into getting them one.
The smartwatch model I have is currently on sale and would be a perfect addition to your holiday wish list this year!
Thank you Garmin for sponsoring today’s post!
