Decorating our Foyer

I am literally the worst decorator on the planet. I definitely know what I like, and I love to style spaces, but I put it off like no one’s business, especially when it’s my own and there are no deadlines. Our foyer has looked like the pits since we moved in and finally over the weekend I had a little time and said, ya know what??? I feel like decorating today. So I shopped from around our house and bought a couple new things and I’m starting to really like the way it’s coming together! It all started with the ginger jars. I really wanted to start a collection but they are SOOO expensive so I found some pretty good versions on Amazon that did the job (will link everything at the end). I have two more coming which I may add to the foyer table or put somewhere else in the house (Brian loves me).

I bought the console table a few months ago from World Market for a steal and it’s held up so great. It’s the perfect size for our foyer and I love that there is plenty of room to style on it. I feel like every foyer table should have height on both sides and you can do that with a lamp, two lamps flanking each side, or add some pottery like ginger jars or a tall vase with flowers. Fresh flowers are a must, a candle or a diffuser is nice (missed that for this round), smaller vase with flowers, books, a picture frame, and then any little trinkets you can put on top of the books or in front of the frame. I used the wooden beads from Target and then these little shells from Jumby Bay.

It’s not done, I still need to tackle the wall behind it (as you can see the mirror I’m planning on hanging is just leaning) but I’ll definitely hang that and now I want find some art mixed with family photos to put around it, like a gallery wall. I’m thinking of using either Minted for that or the Anthropologie line, Artfully Walls.
