My Home Office Reveal

I’m so excited to share my office space with you! Ever since we’ve moved in to our new house, I’ve been slowly collecting pieces that fit this room just right, and I’m so happy with the way it turned out. I collaborated with some of my favorite brands, most notably Annie Selke on the amazing Kenzi Wool Woven Rug that really makes the space as cozy and bright as it is. As a stay-at-home mom and content-creator/blogger/stationery designer/and whatever else comes my way lol, it’s so amazing to have a space to call my own, where I can shut the door to outside distractions, i.e. screaming children, and create.

My goal in designing this space was to keep it light and airy, and to make it an oasis without any clutter and full of good vibes. It’s full of pieces I truly love, and it’s a workspace that inspires me daily.

I painted the walls in Benjamin Moore’s Palest Pistachio (a very very light blue) which contrasts nicely with the white trim.

I love the wall decor in the room, the hats are so fun and keep it summer-y looking in the dead of winter, don’t you think? They are by Hat Attack. The big print I have hanging behind my computer is actually a scarf that I had framed. My late friend Ben gave this Hermes scarf to me for our college graduation and I never wanted to wear it and risk staining it so I had safely in a box in my closet for years. As soon as I saw this big open wall I knew it had a home here. I had it framed locally and I just love the color it adds to the room, and honestly, it brings me peace to see it here everyday. The prints I have hanging on either side are by Rifle Paper Co. which I had framed by Framebridge.

I bought this teal chair from Wayfair and I LOVE IT! I love the color and it’s so soft. I threw a little fur throw over it to add some softness which I think zhushes it up a bit. This is actually a rug (here) and is the perfect size (and price!) and a good trick to fancy up any old chair you have.

I am obsessed with these shelves. I got them from IKEA and they are such a nice piece because I can constantly style them, something I actually like to do to relax. That pretty little drawing is by Sophie and Lilli and the frame is from Target. That’s an Emily Ley print I had framed as well, and gotta have some candy up there. I thought the lemon drops were pretty 🙂

I decided to get my Don Draper on in this little area and create a sort of entertaining space. Everyone’s gotta have a bar in their office right?! Well kind of. I made this into a little refreshment station and catch all table for flowers, perfume, jewelry, magazines, etc… And how about that MIRROR?! It’s another favorite piece of mine. It’s the Lanai Mirror by Serena and Lily and I’m obsessed with it.

I keep a clothing rack in here to house all my upcoming outfits I’m going to shoot (and shoes). I found this one at IKEA for $10 and it’s great.

What I truly love most about this space is that it’s home, and although I can shut the door when I need, I can work alongside my kids. I try and make my schedule around them so lots of work while Brian is at school and when I can get someone to come over and play with Grace, and of course nap time and night time. Many times, when I need to get stuff done while they are around, I can bring in some toys, and they play on the soft carpet and just lay around while I work (Grace also went through a phase where she would take handfuls of dirt from my plant and dump the dirt onto my nice white rug). No but seriously, I am so lucky to have this space to do what I love  and I have all of YOU to thank for this, for your constant support and engagement with me on this journey of building Pure Joy Home.

And a BIG thank you to my friend Casey of Likely Crush for taking such beautiful pictures of this space, and to my other partners for the following products:
