Fairmont Mayakoba Trip

3 Dec 2018 Travel

Life & Style blogger, Liz Joy, shares a review of her family's trip to Fairmount Mayakoba. A full guide to help you plan your next vacation.

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to travel to the Fairmont Mayakoba on a family influencer trip. When I say it was one of the best vacations we have ever taken as a family, I am NOT exaggerating! Fairmount Mayakoba has it all, from the pools, beaches, rooms, activities, spa, kids club, dining, service, it is TOP NOTCH. It’s such a great resort for families, none of us wanted to leave, especially after making so many good friends!

We went to Fairmount Mayakoba with a couple of different families, some of whom you may know from their blogs! The Adams Family, Monica Awe-Etuk and Carrie Colbert. We all got a long so well and stayed together for the entire trip. The kids played all day and night, and so did the adults! The weather was perfect for us and the itinerary Zapwater put together made the trip so much fun. I secretly wish they could plan every family vacation for us because they did such a stellar job 🙌🏻 Here is glance at what we did while we were there!

Sounds perfect right? It was! The property was absolutely stunning, here are a couple of our favorite spots:

The all-inclusive plan at Fairmount Mayakoba is amazing, I feel like when you hear “all-inclusive” you may think cheap drinks and gross food. Not here, all incredible! We ate SO well, and the drinks weren’t so bad either! Liz got me into Mimosa’s but instead of orange juice, use grapefruit juice, SO good!

I lived for their chocolate croissants, had to have one every morning.

We were there during Halloween, and the Fairmont Mayakoba did a wonderful job of making the whole day fun for the kids, AND we also got to celebrate Dia de los Muertos which was so fun for families. The Kids Club had activities all day like pumpkin carving, dance parties, and trick-or-treating at night.

We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up. We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative.

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well.

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

Thanks for coming along, I hope your year is off to an amazing start! Is there anything specific you’d like me to share about while we’re in this phase? I was thinking about sharing my morning workouts and meditations, but let me know!
Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app @melissawoodtepperberg @melissawoodhealth and so far I’m loving the workouts. I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
