I’m so excited to share our fall foyer update!! Every time I walk by it I get giddy. So proud of how it came together. Yep, that’s a pat on the back for myself…I’m doing that more now, try it!
Do you get stuck at the beginning of something you really want to do? Because you are not sure how or where to start? Or just tell yourself tomorrow is the day! Only to get distracted and rationalize excuses for why you didn’t get it done? Why do we do this even though we know if we finish that project would make us feel so much better? This fall foyer update was it for me. I listen to a lot of motivational speakers and they talk about this a lot. Read this article on the topic. It was really interesting and relevant to my feelings here.
I digress…
Our gallery wall is a project I’ve been putting off since we moved into our house. The task just seemed daunting. And like a whole lot of work that would probably not even come out right. I actually think because our entire house is in a state of disarray from the renovation, I crush the little areas I can control! Decorating is so therapeutic for me. I’m such a visual person and playing around with little spaces is right up my alley.
Kelly walked in one morning and I handed her a level and said, “we’re doing this today!” and then we’re going to share it.
TIPS FOR HOW TO GET THE LOOK
I am excited with how this turned out. And it’s a great small home project anyone can do! First, I started by finding the items I knew I definitely wanted to use. Obviously the table was already there, I finally hung the mirror and wanted to feature these gorgeous porcelain jars. Instead of overthinking and wondering where I could print the photo’s for this wall, I actually made it really simple and just printed them from my office printer. This new printer works like a charm and I think they came out really well. It helped that I used matte frames too. Once I had the must have items laid out on the floor I was able to figure out the layout I wanted. Then that highlighted any gaps. Next I pulled from artwork I have collected throughout the years, family photo’s and because I tend to like the same color palette it all came together!
Do you have a project right now you are putting off?
