Fall Weekends

24 Oct 2019 Outfit Posts, Style

Fall Weekends

My favorite Fall weekends are the ones we leave wide open with zero plans 🙌🏻During the week we are so busy and on the go between school and activities so I relish in the slow pace of the weekends. The kids also seem to be exhausted from the week come Friday night and really appreciate lounging around and going on the occasional adventure.

The weather has been just right and the foliage this time of year in Connecticut is absolutely stunning, so last weekend we took a trip to Jones Family Farms to pick out some pumpkins.  We love coming to this farm in the fall and will be back again to pick out our Christmas tree on the day after Thanksgiving. If you are local or are looking for an amazing place to visit in Connecticut you should definitely put Jones on your list! It’s a family owned farm of about 400 acres of beautiful land and this time of year they have farm animals, hayrides, a corn maze, fall flowers, fresh apples and more pumpkins growing than you can imagine!  They also have a winery on-site in case you want to leave the kids at home and make it a day date spot, and the prettiest sunset you can get in CT 🍇🍷

Shoes For The Family

I was so excited to get the opportunity to collaborate with Koolaburra by UGG.  I am such a big fan of their shoes! Their quality, comfort and style are SO good and the price is unbeatable.  I ordered shoes for the entire family which we wore on this outing.  All of us were extremely comfortable and our feet were nice and warm while walking around the farm all afternoon. I wore the women’s Madeley soft suede boot and could easily style these so many different ways. The classic style would be perfect to wear during the day with skinny jeans.  Then transition for a more dressed up look with a Fall style midi dress or skirt.  The heel was just the right height for me (I am 5’2″ for reference) and they come in 3 other color options.

Lace Up Chukka Style Boots

Brian and Grace both have the short boot style which is available for both ToddlersToddlers and Kids.  These boots offer a cozy faux fur lining with non-skid soles.  The best part is they are easy enough for them to take on and off themselves (win!!).  Then Brian needed a new pair of shoes for the Fall that weren’t sneakers and these lace up chukka style boots were perfect.  I highly recommend Koolaburra by UGG  shoes for your whole family this Fall/Winter.  You can checkout #KoolaAdventures to see other Fall Family adventures and inspiration for styling Koola boots this season.

Thank you Koolaburra by UGG for sponsoring this post.

As always, all thoughts & opinions are my own.  No pumpkins were harmed during this shoot.

‘tis the summer of “no” for me, which may so ‘tis the summer of “no” for me, which may sound odd, but let me explain…

This is the summer of protecting my energy, keeping the good vibes close, and only saying yes to doing the things that truly bring us joy. I have found in the past that my patterns are typically to say yes to whatever may sound like a fun opportunity at the time, even if it’s months in advance. I’m sure you can guess what usually ends up happening, but when that day comes, I dread having made the plans! Most of the time, I would rather be home with my family, enjoying the beach, having quiet nights, etc… Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good time, but I have found the older I get, the simpler I like my life to be. I crave the freedom of not being on anyone else’s schedule, I don’t like being expected to be anywhere, I want my kids to just be free to play with their friends, and simply just enjoy the everyday moments.

My perfect summer looks like this… swimming in our pool, being at the beach with our friends and family, gardening, keeping up with my veggie garden, making yummy dinners, barbecuing, happy hour at the beach, taking walks, drinking coffee on the porch, reading books, watching movies as a family on the couch, playing tennis with my girlfriends … this is all heaven to me. We’re working pretty hard during the days with Marea, so when I’m not working, this is what I love to be doing.

How about you? Do you crave the simplicity? Or do you like having plans? Mix of both?
