Family Togetherness with Garnet Hill

4 Dec 2017 Family, Holiday 2017, Kids, Outfit Posts, Style

A couple of weeks ago, our family had the greatest pleasure to work with Garnet Hill on some really fun holiday content. The whole experience from the beautiful fall/winter scenery in the Hamptons, the house we did all the shoots in, the ENTIRE team was truly awe-inspiring. I’ve never worked on such an exciting and well-produced project before, remember I’m a one woman show, so having like-minded creatives to work alongside me was such a treat! After reflecting on the experience I think what was truly the greatest was working with my family which didn’t feel like work at all. My kids LOVED every minute of it, they were obsessed with the whole team and didn’t want to leave them, like literally. Grace was attached to the hips of the stylist Victoria, and videographer, Julie. We literally had to peel her off to actually get her in the shots 😂 And Brian was obsessed with the house, they had an air hockey table in the basement that he still talks about to this day (his biggest takeaway, haha, kids).

Here is a behind-the-scenes of Grace working the camera (thanks Matthew Kisiday), the whole vibe was just so good which I think reflects in the content we produced …

The first concept I want to share with you is about family togetherness, ways to spend quality time with family at home during the holidays. We had so much fun with this one because it mimics exactly what we do at home as a family. We set up cozy spaces, bake cookies, decorate the tree together, and play board games. It’s all about enjoying each other without the stress or worry that the holidays can sometimes bring on. All of our outfits and decor are from Garnet Hill!

decorating the tree!
baking cookies and learning about textures and shapes!
getting cozy and playing classic board games!
This was so fun to create and I hope you take away some ideas for your holiday home!
The next concept I’m going to share with you today is all about winter travel essentials. I’m sharing 10 beautiful pieces from Garnet Hill that will have you traveling in style this winter.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our time with Garnet Hill, I’ll be back with more including 4 head-to-toe looks for holiday gatherings and a new twist on wrapping presents next Monday!

‘tis the summer of “no” for me, which may so ‘tis the summer of “no” for me, which may sound odd, but let me explain…

This is the summer of protecting my energy, keeping the good vibes close, and only saying yes to doing the things that truly bring us joy. I have found in the past that my patterns are typically to say yes to whatever may sound like a fun opportunity at the time, even if it’s months in advance. I’m sure you can guess what usually ends up happening, but when that day comes, I dread having made the plans! Most of the time, I would rather be home with my family, enjoying the beach, having quiet nights, etc… Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good time, but I have found the older I get, the simpler I like my life to be. I crave the freedom of not being on anyone else’s schedule, I don’t like being expected to be anywhere, I want my kids to just be free to play with their friends, and simply just enjoy the everyday moments.

My perfect summer looks like this… swimming in our pool, being at the beach with our friends and family, gardening, keeping up with my veggie garden, making yummy dinners, barbecuing, happy hour at the beach, taking walks, drinking coffee on the porch, reading books, watching movies as a family on the couch, playing tennis with my girlfriends … this is all heaven to me. We’re working pretty hard during the days with Marea, so when I’m not working, this is what I love to be doing.

How about you? Do you crave the simplicity? Or do you like having plans? Mix of both?
