Over the weekend, our sweetie little Grace turned 2! I can’t believe she’s already 2, honestly it feels like yesterday that she came into this world and made our family complete. She is THE SWEETEST little girl so full of happiness and joy. She makes everyone around her smile with her outgoing personality and charm. She waves hello to everyone, no matter where we are, airport, grocery store, pool and everyone sort of just smiles and feels the love. She’s just an angel. Also, BIG UPDATE, she’s potty-trained!! No more diapers, except at night. I’m so proud of her and will post a separate article on how we did it.
On Saturday we celebrated with a BIG summer bash, we did a joint party because Brian’s birthday is on the 19th, 2 for 1 special at the Joy’s. We invited our close friends and family, which quickly added up to about 80 people but everyone had an awesome time, especially the kids with this waterslide we rented. It was HUGE and they couldn’t stop sliding down. I ended up going down unintentionally fully clothed and man, that thing was FAST.

My favorite part of the night was when everyone at the party got up on the deck to sing to Brian and Grace. I’ve never seen anything like it and they were just eating it up. They are both so special and it just made my heart melt to see them enjoy all these great people who love them sing Happy Birthday to them. Here is a video:

We served pulled pork sliders, hot dogs, mac + cheese, and pesto pasta salad. I kept it as simple as possible so we could enjoy the party, too. Our local grocery store (Shoprite Grade A for those around here) did most of the food and it was SO good, everyone loved it. We also had a bar with water and juice boxes for the kids, La Croix seltzer, beer and wine.
SO that was on Saturday, and then on Sunday we kind of just hung around the house all day playing with all the new presents, OMG the presents, I don’t know what I’m going to do with all these toys!! AYYYAYAYY. Brian’s Uncle and Grandma Joy got him a Hot Wheels Jeep Wrangler and you should see him and Grace whipping around the backyard in that thing, it might be the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Brian always makes Grace “hold on tight, we’re going fast!!” and then they just wave to us the whole time, SO cute.
We ended the weekend at our pool club because were having Sunday Funday bash with a band, bubble machine, and frozen drinks. It was a gorgeous night and by the time we got home, as you can imagine, I wanted to fall down on the floor and go to sleep. What a great weekend. We’re so lucky to have so many amazing people in our lives, and I’m so happy that Grace and Brian get to grow up in this beautiful circle of family and friends we love <3
