Grocery Shopping Made Easy With Stop & Shop

16 Nov 2018 Family, Shopping Guides

A couple of weeks ago I had the unique opportunity to preview the newly remodeled Stop & Shop grocery store in South Windsor, Connecticut.  The new store is absolutely stunning and SO convenient for busy moms like me!

Grocery shopping is truly one of my favorite things to do.  I know I might be alone here but I really enjoy walking around the aisle, getting inspired for what to cook for my family and it’s especially fun on the rare occasion I am shopping solo 😉.

The kids are great, but I certainly have had my share of melt-downs, tantrums, spilling, carts slamming into my ankles…you catch my drift. It’s almost like running a marathon trying to keep both kids calm, entertained and still long enough for me to buy the essentials. For this, I am SO grateful that Stop & Shop took the time to get to know their customer and designed a better shopping experience geared towards making our lives easier.  Here are some of the ways Stop & Shop has upped the grocery shopping game and made my life (and now yours!) so MUCH better!

In Store Catering Options

They have so many different departments offering catering services and beautifully prepared, ready to eat items!  If you are a busy mom like me and need to provide food for school functions, playdates or even a dinner party there are a variety of great options.  From cake, to meats, to fruit platters, they have it all.  They even have a new Entertaining Made Easy brochure that can help you easily decide what to order!  This will be especially great with all the holiday celebrations coming up.  There is such a wide variety of deliciously made items for you to feel proud to bring to any gathering. You can see their Entertaining Made Easy brochure for some ideas!

Grab & Go

As busy parents (or even just people!) it can be hard to remember to feed yourself as well as the kids.  Healthy, well-balanced meals can easily be neglected if you only have time to eat quickly and therefore have the kids leftover chicken nuggets or bread crust.  I really LOVE the Grab & Go options near the deli section.  There’s a variety of really fresh and nutritious options ready to eat.  Perfect for lunch or a snack on the go.  You can even pop by on your lunch break if your office is close by and grab lunch to go.

Enjoy Mom’s Day Out

If you get the chance to casually shop a lone without kids, they have a wonderful cafe’ where you can stop to get your coffee (and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!) before you tackle your shopping list.  I would even bring my laptop and comfortably work from the cafe’ while I enjoy a snack before I get my shopping done.

Shop, Scan and Go!

OK, this might be one of my favorite new features of the store.  When I was little I always wanted to be a cashier.  I loved to pretend to scan items and use a register.  Something about it seemed so fun to me.  So I always use the self-checkout aisle at stores.  Stop & Shop worked to expand their self-checkout lanes to avoid long lines.  Win!

It get’s better.

I always wished I had an easy way to keep track of how I am doing against our grocery budget for that trip.  With the scan-it device I can quickly scan items as I go and then use it at checkout for a faster and more convenient exit.

Wait, it get’s EVEN better.

When I am with the kids every minute counts!  So scanning and bagging groceries then fumbling to find my wallet takes time away from a smooth transition out of the store and on our way home.  Now with Stop & Shop Scan It Mobile Pay App I can easily scan & bag items as I shop (and the kids can help) and checkout faster and easier than ever.  It allows you to scan your groceries as you shop and quickly check out and you don’t even need your wallet.  You can do it all through the app on your phone.  Seriously this is a life changer!!

Local Love

Stop + Shop not only values it’s customer’s but also the surrounding community.  They now have TV screens throughout the store that share information about local happenings, events and more to help you stay up to date on what’s going on in your neighborhood.  There is also a section dedicated to local foods.

These are just a few of the ways Stop & Shop is making incredible strides towards a better shopping experience.  Now we can focus on the important parts like what we are putting into our bodies instead of how we will ever survive this errand without complete meltdowns.  I can shop easier and rest easier knowing that I am enjoying making better choices for our family.  Check out your nearest Stop & Shop store to see all it has to offer.

Thank you Stop & Shop  for sponsoring today’s post!

We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up. We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative.

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well.

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

Thanks for coming along, I hope your year is off to an amazing start! Is there anything specific you’d like me to share about while we’re in this phase? I was thinking about sharing my morning workouts and meditations, but let me know!
Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app @melissawoodtepperberg @melissawoodhealth and so far I’m loving the workouts. I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
