This post is a special one as it’s featuring my other half 🙂 PS have you seen Brian on instagram?? It’s brand new and pretty hilarious. SO, Brian and I decided we are going to pass on the gift giving this holiday season given all the work (and $$) we spent on our recent renovation. But I still had a few things on my list I was hoping to save up and get for myself including a smart watch. I have been looking at different options for a few months now and when Garmin reached out to work together I was totally on-board. They came up in my search as the most aesthetic and affordable option (in my opinion) and once I saw how beautiful and sleek their styles were in person I was sold.
I am not normally a watch person so in order for me to wear something everyday it needs to be comfortable (light not clunky) stylish and versatile. I chose the rose gold color which I really love and there’s tons of band colors to choose from and have others on hand in case you want to change up the look (i.e. from day to night).
When I received my watch in the mail I put it on right away and have been wearing it ever since (SO many of you spotted and asked about it right away in my stories!). My favorite features so far have been:
- Tracking my daily steps – I feel like I run around all day but now I will know whether or not that is resulting in me actually moving for as much time as I should each and every day. I want to be a healthy and energized wife, mama and business women so I need to stay on top of my health and this is a REALLY simple way to start doing so.
- Alerts for text, e-mail or phone calls – SO much of my job is on my phone that it’s nice to be able to put it away when the kids are done with school and focus my attention towards them while also making sure I am not missing anything important. The texts to my watch allow me to easily scan and see if it’s urgent or if it can wait. If I do need to take a call I can easily set a timer to make sure I don’t work past the time i have and stay on track with my day.
- Heart Rate, Sleep and Stress monitor – it’s amazing what this watch can do for your health. I have seen heart rate and sleep monitors in other devices but the stress monitor is something i am really interested in (especially this time of year). It can help track your stress levels and even notify you if you need to take a break and use the relaxation timer to work through deep breathing exercises to get you balanced again.
- Music – Instead of bringing your phone and an armband (which I find clunky and uncomfortable) you can instead play music through the Garmin
By the way I am starting to run did I tell you all that? I’ve ran twice in the past two weeks but I consider that a victory! The best part is the daily reminder and motivation to move more which has now become a friendly competition between Brian and I. We are both super competitive so I thought this would be the perfect thing for Brian to try out as well. He and I can actually sync our activities to the Garmin Connect app and share our progress and see who’s “winning” that day or send cute texts to each other throughout the day encouraging each other. They also have a kids line so when they get a little older (and more responsible:) I would def look into getting them each one.
The model I have is currently on sale and would be a perfect addition to your holiday wish list this year!
Thank you Garmin for sponsoring today’s post!
