Summer is such a great and relaxing time for us in the JOY house. Although our schedules may be jam packed with activities, camps, baseball, traveling etc… there is always this beautiful quiet time in the morning when we all have breakfast. I’ve been pretty good at keeping on my goal of being more of a morning person and getting up before the kids to start my diffusers, have a warm cup of coffee and start making breakfast before the day starts for my kiddos. It’s the best to see their sleepy little heads walk down the stairs give me a big hug and ask “what’s for breakfast!”. I like to switch up the menu for them to keep it simple yet nutritious but I always serve it alongside a glass of Florida Orange Juice. We usually have eggs and toast with some fresh fruit, or whole grain waffles with organic syrup and fruit, cereal, etc… Another way we like to enjoy our Florida Orange Juice is in a smoothie!
As many of you know we love Florida, it’s our second home and where we have had so many happy times! I like to recreate the feeling we are by the Florida beach by fueling up with Florida Orange Juice. It’s a reminder of our favorite place but more importantly I know the kids are getting a healthy dose of Vitamin C with a drink they love! You can read more about the nutrition facts here.
Florida Orange Juice helps support our busy lives as it has what they refer to as the #Amazing5 in every glass: Taste, Vitamin C, Folate, Potassium and No Added Sugar. One glass of 100% orange juice counts as one of your daily recommended servings of fruit which helps kickstart my kids eating habits for the day! You can read more about the nutritional benefits here along with their delicious recipes you can try at home! We love to make smoothies with our OJ, we add frozen mangos, a banana, fresh strawberries, a handful a spinach and top with Orange Juice, my kids BEG for those and we even started making them into popsicles!
I love this partnership with the Florida Department of Citrus as it hits so close to (our second) home and I really love what their mission involves. In case you don’t know, the Florida Department of Citrus is an executive agency of Florida who’s main focus to to work on marketing, research and regulation of the Florida Citrus industry. Their job is to help maximize demand for Florida citrus products to ensure the sustainability and economic well-being of Florida citrus growers, the citrus industry and state of Florida.
