Jumby Bay Recap!

JUMBY BAY TRAVEL RECAP

Oh Jumby, where do I begin… what an incredible place. The island, accommodations, hospitable staff and overall good vibes far exceeded my expectations and leave me itching to get back. We’ve talked about the good times at Jumby Bay every day since leaving. Most especially Brian + Grace, they absolutely loved it!

FLIGHT

The flight was a breeze from New York, only three and a half hours into V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU). Upon arrival at the airport, a Jumby Bay guide met us and escorted us through customs and into a 2-minute taxi ride to the Jumby Bay yacht. Jumby Bay Resort is situated on a 300-acre island just 7 minutes away from the main island of Antigua. And pulling up by boat is an incredible way to arrive.  Because you get to see the most beautiful beach scape from a distance get closer and closer and the excitement is SO BIG!

ARRIVAL

As soon as we arrived on the dock, Alana greeted us all by name and started holding hands with Brian and Grace. She then showed them the starfish in the water while another lovely staff member gave us a welcome drink and an introduction to the island. Next, we went on a quick tour by golf cart and then arrived at our pool suite 🙌🏻 It was official.  This was the prettiest place we had ever seen and we were all beaming with joy.

ACCOMODATIONS

The pool suite did not disappoint! It had a living area with two cots set up for Brian and Grace.  Then we had a master suite which included an outdoor bath tub and shower.  Outside we had a lovely covered patio with a private pool looking out onto the beach! You could literally not even leave the room and still feel like you are in paradise (well you are!). It’s also a keyless property so you never lock your doors, only at night when you are sleeping. The island is so safe and so well-staffed that your door is always open.  How amazing is that??

FOOD

The food. WOW. So everything is included.  Therefore you just tell them your name (but usually they already know it) and you can have whatever your palate desires. There are five dining options on the property ranging from extra fancy at the Estate House to the casual Beach Bar. We loved each spot and I had the best fish tacos of my life at the Pool Grille. One morning, the Chef Paulo took us on a farm to table dining experience. We got to pick vegetables from the farm and even feed the turtles. Then we came back and had a 6-course brunch with everything we picked. The kids loved the experience so much, I think that was the highlight of the trip for them.

ACTIVITIES

Brian and little Brian loved going out on the boat in the afternoons and tubing off the back.  They have a full range of water sports you can enjoy, all included.

KIDS CLUB

The Kids Club is also A-mazing. The staff is SO friendly and they have really fun activities like treasure hunts, movie nights, water balloons, dress-up, make your own pizza. It’s so nice to be able to enjoy a meal with your spouse while your kids are lapping it up in kids club luxury!

EVENTS

One of our favorite nights was the White Party. Every Sunday, Jumby Bay has a white party where everyone comes out to enjoy live music, dancing, and all the delicious food you can imagine on the beach. Since this was our second night, we got to meet some really nice families that are kids ended up playing with the entire trip. It was so cute seeing the kids all dressed up in white, and dancing the night away with new friends.

WHY CHOOSE JUMBY BAY

Everything on the island is top-notch, you don’t have to think twice about a single thing because you know you are going to be taken care of. The whole “not thinking” part is key for me on vacation, I love not having to navigate where to eat, what to do, everything is literally right there and chances are, it’s going to be the best thing you’ve ever experienced. Jumpy Bay is truly a paradise and I can’t utter a bad word about it. If you’re planning an awesome beach vacation, I urge you, beg you, to consider Jumby Bay!! You will love it.
