When life hands you lemons…photoshoot moved inside the house

Sometimes life hands you lemons, like it did for me this past weekend. Brian was out of town and I had a miserable cold leaving me feeling like sh*t and tired as he**. On Sunday, the kids woke up with it and school was starting for both of them on Monday. I had to cancel a photoshoot on Sunday as well for a big collaboration I have this week, and was just feeling so crappy, I was being short and snippy towards my kids. Even as I type this on Monday morning with a fresh head I feel like an idiot for having such a pity party but I guess we all have those days. As soon as I put my kids to bed on Sunday night, I called my mom and cried because I was feeling like such a bad mom for not being patient and basically being an asshole to my kids. I then proceeded to get on instagram stories and cry to my people because I felt like sharing. It’s not always pretty, and I think the the greatest gift from this whole blogging world and is being able to share and connect with my community, more than connect, feel emotions together. Feel happy, feel sad, feel proud, it’s nice to be able to have people to share that with when you’re sitting at your house alone after your kids go to bed, or whatever. Motherhood can be isolating at times, you wonder what the eff you got yourself into, you wonder if you’re doing it right, or all wrong, and we ALL feel that way, every.damn.day.

I was talking to my friend earlier in the day and she told me, “give yourself a little grace, give your kids some grace, rest, relax” and the whole Grace thing really struck a cord. We DO need to give ourselves grace more often. It’s okay to have a bad day, it’s okay if Grace pees on the floor when you thought she was totally potty-trained, it’s okay to be sick the day before the first day of school, grace, breathe, grace…

K, that’s all I got for you today, and my words aren’t written well…sorry, I’ve got Grace home with me and a million things to do. Since I had to cancel my photoshoot yesterday, I decided to take a few key pieces myself in the house, and Grace and Brian wanted in on the action…

If you haven’t bought this dress yet, you NEED to. It is the most flattering, beautiful dress I’ve ever worn (in the casual category, my wedding dress is obvi number 1). It goes with everything, I wore it all summer and will continue to wear it all fall. It looks so cute with booties and mules, and cardigans on top. I don’t even have to wear a bra with it because it is supportive and trust me, I need allllll the support. Shop it here ($79).

Also, these mules are LIFE. You need them as well ($69). They are SO comfortable and fit TTS, maybe order a half-size up if you’re in between.

K, next. The stripe top is also life. It hugs me so well, it’s fitted, but thick so it doesn’t show any … body lines, weird formations? SO nice and I love the neckline! Shop it here ($32!!)

Lastly, the booties. Amazing. I LOOOVE them. I love that they are ankle height to go with skinny jeans and ankle jeans and the heel is just the right height to look casual but put together at the same time. Shop them here.

k, talk tomorrow!
