Mom Essentials with the Tot

25 Sep 2017 Family, Motherhood, Shopping Guides

I’m so excited to be partnering up with the Tot to bring you my list of mommy must-haves, the essentials I couldn’t live without when Brian and Grace were newborns. Since I personally don’t have a newborn at the moment, my brother and sister-in-law just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Chloe Jane 🎀, and we sat down together with a little prosecco one night and scoured the Tot to pick out some favorites.

Okay, well some of these I could maybe do without, i.e., the crochet pineapple rattle, BUT if someone gave this to me for Grace I would be over the moon 🍍 So to get right to it:

pineapple rattle  // this would make SUCH a cute gift for your pineapple loving friend and I like that it’s soft!

pom-pom mobile // cute mobiles are actually harder to find than you might think. I love the simplicity of this one, and it would go with any nursery decor. Brian and Grace both LOVED their mobiles and it was a friendly distraction for them while in their cribs 🙂

sleep sacks // I swear by the sleep sacks. With blankets in the crib being a big safety no-no, you know your littles will be warm and safe with these soft sacks, and they come in so many cute patterns!

Little Unicorn burb cloths // I love these burp cloths because they are SO pretty and so soft. I don’t know, throwing something pretty over your shoulder makes burping just a little sweeter? I’m a sucker for a pretty pattern, what can I say…

Swaddle Blankets // We are ALLLL about the swaddle, Brian is really the master swaddler in our house after learning from our maternity nurse but it seriously keeps the newborns SO calm, like they are back in the womb. And again, major eye-candy with these patterns!

Little Shusher // A white noise machine is ESSENTIAL to get through the baby stages, ESSENTIAL. Brian and Grace still use theirs, and now we need one, too! This shusher is PERFECT as the noise is actually a recording of a human making the shushing noise that babies l

Stainless Steel Bottle  //  I hate plastic! I feel like it leaves a taste and that can’t be good. These bottles are 100% plastic-free, crafted from safe, anti-bacterial, #304 stainless steel, medical grade silicone.

BABYBJÖRN Bouncer Balance //  I didn’t have this but wish I did. I cheaped out and bought an amazon one that no one liked, but friends had this one and I was always jealous!

Medela Breast Pump // If you’re going to pump, you’re going to want this one, this is the best pump on the market.

Little Unicorn Bibs // Again, I’m a sucker for a nice pattern, and these bibs are so soft and pretty. Perfect for taking your little out to lunch and dinner.

BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier One Air // Grace absolutely LOVED this, and it was SO helpful to be hands-free! I also loved having her close to me when we were out and about 🙂

We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up. We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative.

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well.

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

Thanks for coming along, I hope your year is off to an amazing start! Is there anything specific you’d like me to share about while we’re in this phase? I was thinking about sharing my morning workouts and meditations, but let me know!
Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app @melissawoodtepperberg @melissawoodhealth and so far I’m loving the workouts. I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
