My Wellness Intentions for 2021

Hi Friends! I’m excited to share my wellness intentions for 2021. These are kind of all over the map but I made a point to focus on doing the things that bring me the most JOY, because Lordy knows we all need that!

In no order, let’s begin…

Wake up 1 hour earlier

Without question, waking up alone before my family and watching the sun come up through the dark trees bring me sooo much peace. Having a cup of coffee alone, writing down my intentions for the day, maybe starting a blog post or checking emails at the kitchen counter is my favorite way to start the day. I did that over our winter break and it was SO refreshing. A couple mornings I took a walk to the beach to watch the sun come up and the cool air on my face and seeing that beautiful glow was almost spiritual 🙌🏻  Waking up earlier is SUCH an easy thing to do once you get in the habit of it, and the best part is you’re extra tired at night so no more late nights on the couch binging two more episodes on Netflix.

Read a book in bed

This is something I haven’t started yet, but I love reading! When we’re on vacation I always read a book and it’s so relaxing. I love that my entertainment is as simple as picking up a couple pages in a book, it also helps my busy mind take a rest. My intention is to read and fuel my brain instead of depleting it on my phone 🤪

Less Instagram

Less screen, more life. UGHH I know it’s part of my job, but I get sucked into alll the scrolling sometimes and it’s honestly NO GOOD for anyone. I can become unhealthy with it, picking up my phone at every juncture in my day, mindlessly scrolling – comparing – feeling less than. My intention is to use the app for an hour a day for work purposes, as a marketing tool for something else, something better, something healthier, something more … *working on that something this year ✨

Ride my Bike

I freaking love to ride my bike! Brian got me a bike years ago and it’s honestly one of my FAVORITE activities. I love meeting up with a friend, biking with my kids, sometimes Brian and I will get a sitter and do a bike ride together. Here is a super cute bike I found on Amazon!

Move My Body

I have been working on moving my body everyday since late December and I LOVE IT. I either get on my MYX Fitness bike, go for a walk, or do floor training. For floor training, I LOVE the Peloton classes. I downloaded the app and find their workouts very, very good. I usually do the 20 minute ones and leave feeling great!

Connect with my Friends / Game night!

It’s so easy to go weeks without picking up the phone and talking to friends, or months without seeing them. Especially now. Yes, we text a lot but making time to talk to your friends or having dates in the calendar to get together is sooo healthy for your heart, and makes you feel connected. I’ve made a couple great friends since moving here and we’re going to start a game night rotation!! We’re going to do it outside with heat lamps and plenty of outdoor gear for now. I think the plan is Gin Rummy, but we’ll see how that goes! I’ve heard Bunko and Marjan are fun!

Take My Supplements + Use My Oils

I feel so much better when I am consistent with my supplements and oils. I take a bunch from Young Living (Vitamin B, D, and C), Sulfurzyme (hair, skin and nails), I drink an antioxidant supplement called Ningxia, and Inner Defense when I’m feeling run down. Oh, and I recently started taking Magnesium before bed, I swear it helps me sleep! I take 200mg.

I diffuse oils all day every day, and use them on my body. I use hormone supporting oils, thyroid, immune, skin, and all sorts of other support. I feel better and love the joy that brings me. I mix up all different sorts of blends and love diffusing certain oils for certain things. Right now while I work, I’m diffusing peppermint and valor, it’s such a pleasant mist to breathe while working and the peppermint keeps me alert. So just continuing to use oils, because they make me feel happy, and they support our bodies!

Get out and Shop Local

We are lucky that our town has a really good small town type vibe with lots of local small businesses. Whether it be grabbing a cup of coffee from the coffee shop, getting the best deli sandwich, getting chocolate croissants at the best bakery, dining out at your favorite restaurant, popping into the local home store and buying someone a little gift… being out and about town makes me happy! That may sound silly but we’ve been cooped up and spending SOOO much time at home since March, so getting out feels REALLY good. Plus I like supporting our small businesses and they all need our help right now.

Spots I Love

Get to the beach

This could look different for you, maybe it’s the woods or a lake, but getting out in nature is SOOO good for the soul. I LOVE the beach, it’s always been my happy place and even if it’s taking the kids there for a quick run on the sand, or William on a long walk with a pit stop at the beach, breathing in the salt air and looking out at the water brings me so much peace.

Have More Sex

Sorry mom 😬 Connecting with your partner, more, enough said.

Fuel My Passion

I have many passions but leaning into the ones that light your soul on fire. Right now for me, it’s my work and home design. I LOVE what I do. Keeping this blog, finding what’s amazing for you out in the market whether that be the best pair of jeans, or a cute basket from Target. I love getting to use my eye and share what I love with you. I love leading my oils team and inspiring women to do the business, seeing them find their passion and blossom into leaders is probably the most fulfilling thing for me right now. I’m also starting to take on a little design work, for fun. We are currently working on a master bath and I’m doing a nursery from our giveaway with Gaelle!

The Art of Not Giving AF

I once got a book that was titled, the Subtle Art of not Giving a F*ck and I think I’ll revisit it. There are so many raging opinions on how one should do life – what if we didn’t give a f*ck and just lived how we feel called to do? More of that…

So these are my wellness goals for 2021! Again, kind of all over the map but lots and lots of JOY GIVING!
