Our Primary Bathroom

Gahhh so excited to share our primary bathroom with you today!! This room is my sanctuary – it’s where I disconnect to take a bath, long showers, look in the mirror, think … it’s a space that feels very safe, very quiet and perfect for when I need to be alone, disconnect and recharge. When we got this bath tub, I promised myself that I would give myself permission to take a bath whenever and for however long I needed (baths relax me like nothing else) and I have kept that promise. I take salt bath multiple times a week, sometimes even first thing in the morning before the kids wake up!! It feels like the biggest luxury and a gift to myself, moral of the story, take that bath ladies!!!

Our bathroom was SUCH a fun project. Gaelle and I went to New England Tile and had the best morning, it got my creative juices flowing and the process captivated me. My eyes and heart were embraced by my love for home design. The different textures, colors, finishes, shapes … putting them together and nailing down the perfect story 🙌🏻  My version of heaven. The tile on the floor is polished carrara marble scallop (we call them mermaid tiles) with a silver shadow grout. For our shower we chose a light blue subway tile again with SS grout. Oh, we also did radiant heat on the floors and OMG that is the best thing EVER!! It’s not the most expensive add-on so if you can swing it in your budget, DO IT.

Then the plumbing! This was SO fun, too. We went to Torrco with our builder and met with Emily Fasano right here in Fairfield. She was wonderful to work with and this is where we selected the tubs, faucets, shower heads, toilets, etc… We also designed our custom vanity with Emily which is by Furniture Guild. We chose a floating vanity in a cerused oak finish with a carrara marble top. LOVE it.

Our MTI tub and tub filler are a DREAM. We chose a polished nickel finish for our bathroom and I love it. It’s a little softer and richer to me than a chrome, and a bit more traditional which is kind of the vibe in here.

The mirrors and sconces are Restoration Hardware, and the light is Visual Comfort – the Hicks.

Without further ado… here are the photos!
