Pantry Organization + How to Wash Your Fruit

Recently I hired a professional organizer and in the first two days of working with her, she has changed my life. I’ve actually known Ana for a while because she’s a part of my oils team! Side note, she owns a cleaning business and has an entire team on cleaning with Thieves!! How cool is that?

I’ve learned so much already, but I wanted to share a couple of quick tips and snippets with you because I am SO excited about them!

Everything has a home. Everything you bring into your home, needs to have a its own little home. Ana worked in our kitchen and pantry by taking everything out and placing it on a folding table. She divided all of my items into categories and then made homes for them. We did a lot of containers on shelves for organization and easy access. In this new way, you can see everything because the containers are clear which really helps you to see what you have and what you need without it hiding in the back of the shelf. Should also cut down on grocery bill because you won’t be wasting things!

We also PURGED big time and boy did that feel good. After Ana went home that night I went on to do my own closet and linen closet. My closet now looks like a boutique with very few pieces, basically like a capsule, left on the shelves and on hangers. I rotate through the same pieces so got rid of anything extra, stuff that I haven’t worn in months or even years! I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to walk into these storage spaces and see no clutter!! It’s life changing.

I will update or write a new post with the finished product of all these spaces but I wanted to get this post out because I’ve gotten some questions on the containers and the fruit-washing experience I had on my stories.

For the life changing fruit baths. All the produce for the week is purchased on one day, say, Sunday. Before food shopping, wash and scrub your sink down two times. Ana and I both like Thieves dish soap and the Scrub Daddy sponges. When you get home from the store, give your fruit a bath in your sink filled with ice cold water and two to three capfuls of Thieves Fruit + Veggie soak (my member number is 13196752). Let it sit and soak in there for a couple minutes. Turn the sink on again and bring the fruit one-by-one out of the bath and rinse it under the water. Place to the side on a dish towel and continue rinsing.

For berries, these containers are amazing. They get their own little bath in these containers with one capful of fruit and veggie soak.

Dry off your fruit and place directly into clear containers like this. Seeing your fruit clean and ready to eat makes such a HUGE difference when you’re grabbing ingredients for meals of even for you to see for snacks! The kids love being able to grab fruit and ready to eat!

I can’t tell you how much food I would waste because it would sit in that clear bag in the back of a produce drawer. I was always throwing stuff away!

I love this new method and wish I had learned it sooner! Ana from Top Team will literally change your life. She is the sweetest, and she just comes in and takes over. I seriously LOVE working with her and can’t wait to let her work her magic all through our house!
