Project Living Room | GLDesign

Ahhh I’m so excited to start working on our living room! The room has been completely empty since moving in except for our jute rug that we brought with us from the old house and an exercise mat in the middle. I’ve just started dabbling in the furnishings and took the plunge on a couple of great neutral starting pieces. I of course had to get a white couch (against the opinions of EVERYONE #becausekids) and fell in love with this one from Wayfair. I love how deep it is and the fact that I can dress it up with colorful pillows. I also bought these two end tables from IKEA after seeing them in a couple of homes I admire like my friend Steph’s house and fellow blogger Sarah Swanson. I already styled one and am holding off on the other one until I get more of the room nailed down.

I was feeling kind of stuck and wanting the opinion of a professional so I enlisted the help of Gaelle Dudley of GLDesign who is AMAZING!! I met Gaelle at my Pure Joy Holiday party this past year and I knew when I was ready for design help she would be my first call, such good vibes from her and we have similar taste. I went to her home yesterday and OMG I DIED, if you follow me on instagram, you probably saw her home tour on my insta-stories and I thought my page was going to crash with the amount of messages I got from people freaking out over her house. Stay tuned for a full blog post dedicated to her house, it’s like home of the century status in my eyes, here’s a preview ?

totally amazing, right?

Back to my house, here is the design board Gaelle put together for me:

A couple of things we’re definitely working with:

rattan chairs / mirror / Annie Selke rug / white spindle chair / console table / hats (previously owned) coffee table / pillows

We are also doing shiplap walls, a cement tile encased fireplace, and reclaimed mood mantle ??

Here are some inspiration photos that I’ve been pinning on Pinterest. For all sources, follow my living room board!

It’s kind of a sophisticated boho if such a style exists? I love the neutral backdrops and pops of color. I’m so excited to continue on this decorating journey with you, it’s going to be so fun!
