The Heart of The Home | Kitchen Tour With Sub-Zero, Wolf And Cove Appliances

From the first pancake flip on a Sunday morning to a glass of wine just the two of us before bed, our kitchen is the heart of our home. It’s where we try new recipes and savor old favorites. A place for casual homemade pizza or fancy holiday dinners.

Some of our most precious family memories will be spent in our new home and a lot of them will revolve around food. Especially now with the kids getting older, having a functional and beautiful kitchen experience is something we knew we wanted to invest in when we began our new home renovation last year. So, I wanted to finally give you a glimpse and let you in on the reason why I believe our kitchen is the heart of our home.

If you’ve been a follower for awhile, you know cooking is a big part of our lives. Brian loves sharing recipes and even our kids have started to show interest in helping out in the kitchen. When you spend so much time in the kitchen like we do, you really want to be able to count on your appliances.

The refrigeration, cooking appliances, and dishwashing from Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Covefrom Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove were something we had in our old house. So, when we started building our dream home, there was really no other option for us. We knew we wanted substance, durability and style, which is exactly what you get with these brands.

Design flexibility is a huge bonus when purchasing appliances from Sub-Zero.  With thousands of configurations and panel-ready options, you truly have the ability to make the appliances your own. This was important for us because we didn’t feel we could find the look we wanted without that personal touch. Everything else in our home was an intentional choice, so our appliances wouldn’t be any different.

Why Sub-Zero?

A few years back we were able to go to the Sub-Zero, Wolf and Cove factory in Madison, WI. This visit made such an impact on us as we got to see the thought and craftsmanship that goes into every detail. One thing that stood out to me is their dual refrigeration that has two separate cooling systems. The dual cooling design helps fresh food stay fresh longer because of the cool, moist air that it produces.

During our visit, the Sub-Zero team talked a lot about the importance of the whole culinary experience and inspiring moments worth savoring. It’s not just about picking out an appliance, it’s about creating a space where you and your family can thrive and create memories around the table.

This time around we worked with our dealer (County TV & Appliance for anyone local). We had the option to choose from stainless steel or to custom panel the units to fit in seamlessly with our cabinetry. The customization was huge. They have a variety of size options to fit any kitchen size or need. Even appliances typically associated with larger, pro-style kitchens can be incorporated into smaller kitchen footprints without sacrificing the performance and design.

Here’s what we have in our kitchen and a little bit about why we love each.

Sub-Zero Full-Size Refrigeration Classic Series

Storing leftovers. Having fresh snacks available for after school. The space to see what ingredients we have on hand. All of these things are easy peasy with this fridge.

Wolf Gas Range With Griddle Top Feature

Quick to heat up. Consistent cook times. The Wolf range has so much substance behind the style. It truly is a classic for a reason. There’s something about a professional cooktop that makes a hot meal taste better.

Cove Dishwasher

Is this thing on?! When we first experienced the Cove dishwasher in our new home, we literally thought it wasn’t on because it’s so silent. Then we opened it up and our glasses were sparkling clean. Our whole relationship with doing the dishes changed in one afternoon.

3 Quick Takeaways From Choosing Our Kitchen Appliances

  1. Not settling on our non-negotiables. When making a big purchase like this, one tactic we use to get the ball rolling for us is to list out the things that we can’t live without. The “non-negotiables,” meaning that you’re unwilling to give these things up. For me, I had my heart set on the Wolf range with the griddle feature. For Brian, it was the quick heating gas range. These aren’t  necessarily needs, but they’re part of our vision for our kitchen being the heart of our home. Once we had our non-negotiables list, the process of narrowing down our appliance choices became really easy.
  2. Quality appliances become part of your lifestyle. Refrigerator, oven, cooktop, dishwasher — we use these things every day. It’s so important that they enhance and support our lifestyle. With children, that means accommodating for bottles, pouches storage, homemade baby food jars, fresh fruit for snacks and quick dishwashing cycles if someone’s favorite cup is dirty. Our philosophy: if you’re going to spend the money on quality items, you want them to be perfect or pretty darn close.
  3. Shopping with a dealer is a game changer. This is SO helpful! When we went shopping with our dealer, they were able to ask us questions and then point out features we hadn’t even thought of. Especially if design and style is important to you, like it is for Pure Joy Home, it’s so much more productive to shop with a rep from the brand. They’re the expert on their appliances and we’re the expert on our home. Together, we came to the right decision for our family.

One of the things we are most looking forward to in our new home is hosting. Cooking for (and with) friends makes my hostess heart happy and we LOVE having people over to watch football or have a game night. Having our kitchen outfitted with Sub-Zero appliances makes everything seamless. The precision and power of the Wolf range, the space and customization of the Sub-Zero refrigeration, and the silence of the Cove dishwasher. Yes, even cleanup is sort of fun. Sort of.

And then, after a fun night of hosting, we get to wake up and make chocolate chip pancakes for our kids on the griddle.

If you’re customizing your kitchen to be the heart of your home, Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove thought of everything to make that dream a reality!
