Weekend Recap & Casual Outfits

17 Jan 2017 Outfit Posts

What’s up mamacitas? We’re coming off an amazing long weekend with lots of quality time with our little squad and friends and family, it was actually a busy one! On Friday night we went to our cousin’s for pizza and Brian had his first sleepover (SO SAD!!!). He desperately wanted to sleep with his cousins and he was so unexpectedly fine with it. I tucked him in and he was like “see ya later mom” :((((( When Brian and I got home with Grace, I was literally choking back the tears and grabbed his pillow and slept on it < psycho mom. We picked him up in the morning and he had the best time, and was acting all “independent” this weekend. How is he growing up so fast?!

On Saturday we looked for cars and decided on leasing a Volvo, the C 60 or something like that. All I care about is that it’s safe, all wheel drive, navy blue with a light interior. I’m actually really excited to drive a new car, I’ve been driving a 2010 Ford Explorer (Dorothy) for a while so it will be nice to have a change of scenery, and that new car smell! On Saturday night, we hosted our close friends for dinner (6 adults + 7 toddlers) and I served a lasagna and chicken + pepper dish. On Sunday we chilled in the morning, cleaned up the mess from the night before, and in the afternoon Brian had a men’s lunch thing and the wives got together with the children at our house (10 kids in total). That whole men at lunch and wives and children here sounds so old school, but it was fun!

SO onto the overalls, I never thought I would wear overalls but I LOVE these!! I pulled them out of the box and it was love at first sight. I’m in need of some new clothes to wear during the day, clothes I can wear around the house, for running errands, at school, etc… I’ll be showing more casual looks on the blog because truthfully that’s what I’m wearing these days, I hope you all are okay with that!

Aren’t these cute? And they are so comfortable! I like them because they are somewhat skinny and not frumpy looking, and perfect with a cute pair of sneakers.I paired them with a striped shirt + my new favorite bag.

overalls / tee / sneakers / hat / bag / sunnies

Also sale alert, this boho blouse is on major sale for $35! This top is a stunner and perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Coming up tomorrow, my first video tutorial >> beachy waves!

We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican ad We’re currently in Phase 1 of our Costa Rican adventure. This is the two week decompression period where we train our bodies and minds to slow down (this is more for me than anyone else), and let me tell you, I’m lapping it up. We’re spending all day outside at the beach, going to bed early, eating lots of fresh fruit and healthy foods, swimming in the ocean, I’m working out and meditating in the mornings, and having fun together. For someone who is usually always in high gear, this part is my gift to myself 🐚

We are staying at a beautiful place in papagayo with @exclusiveresorts and it feels very luxurious and restorative.

The kids are already thriving. Being together 24/7 comes with its arguments and fights but they are learning how to just be with each other and with their crazy little brother. They’re helping a lot with him, learning a little Spanish, surfing, writing in their journals, and meeting kids from all over the world who are staying here as well.

I’m letting us get pampered for this phase, and it feels really good.

Thanks for coming along, I hope your year is off to an amazing start! Is there anything specific you’d like me to share about while we’re in this phase? I was thinking about sharing my morning workouts and meditations, but let me know!
Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app Recently, I downloaded the Melissa Wood health app @melissawoodtepperberg @melissawoodhealth and so far I’m loving the workouts. I try and do one every morning. They’re super quick so sometimes I do two. I like that they are gentle but hard. They incorporate a lots of yoga, pilates, breathing, stretching, balancing and all that good stuff. You can see from the videos I’m pretty shaky in the first couple clips, that balance is tough but I’m building up my strength, I can feel it 💪🏻
